Made of mulberry fiber (also known as Pi paper in Chinese or gampi/kozo paper in Japanese), our Mulberry #1 is 27gsm in thickness, with a smoother and finer texture than Mulberry #2. It is pH neutral and archival, and its unsized absorbency makes it smudge less than Xuan paper while remaining soft and strong like a fabric.
This paper works well with most water-based art media, including watercolors and fluid acrylics. It resists bleeding and shows color brilliantly, making it appropriate for painting landscapes, animals, birds, and flowers. Perfect for Sumi-e or Chinese brush painting, calligraphy, mounting, rubbing, stamping, kite, lantern, window covering, and collage.
Each bundle includes 10 large sheets, measuring 57"x30" (145cm x 76cm) and 28gsm in weight.
